About the Author
Amberly Kristen Clowe is a Texas-native, who loves reading, writing, coffee, and pastries.
She first became interested in writing in third grade, particularly after reading John R. Erickson’s Hank the Cowdog. Amberly remembers her teacher’s hearty laugh after reading Amberly’s writing assessment. For the same assessment, Amberly received an award and her picture in the paper. She thinks Hank would be proud. Since then, Amberly studied education in college and once she began teaching reading and writing to elementary students, she picked up her own pen, remembering her childhood passion.
Amberly has been a part of the rollercoaster that is publishing for fifteen years. She has published several picture books and chapter book series, including the award-winning Teeny Sweeney Series. Amberly has also contributed to numerous magazines, like Focus on the Family, and blog sites, like Her View From Home.
One of the most rewarding experiences of her life has been homeschooling her children, which she has done for nearly a decade. Amberly also enjoys serving in a local homeschool support group and has recently started teaching an English class to homeschoolers. You may find homeschooling in Amberly’s stories. Her interests often find a way of threading themselves into her writing.
She is quite eclectic when it comes to her reading tastes. Amberly devours the classics, from C.S. Lewis’ The Magician’s Nephew to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. But she has also been known to adore James Patterson’s Not So Normal Norbert and her current favorite book, from the one and only Wild Blue Wonder Press, Springtime in Surrey.
