Jessica B. Brown

About the Author

Jessica B. Brown is a young author, avid reader, and daughter of the King. She writes gentle, hope-filled character-driven stories that reach for your hand and touch your heart.

Jessica was born in South Africa where she spent her early childhood. In her early tweens, she and her family moved to Australia, but six months later, a new chapter opened up for them in New Zealand. That move set off a series of relocations, with her family moving towns three more times. These experiences gave her a unique perspective on cultures, new beginnings and what it means to trust God with the future.

Home-schooling allowed Jessica to devote time to many creative hobbies, none of which she thought she would ultimately pursue as a career. But binge reading during the COVID-19 lockdowns became a catalyst for deciding what she wanted to do with the rest of her life: write the kinds of stories she loved reading.

Jessica joined The Young Writers Workshop in 2022, and the program gave her the encouragement and support she needed to pursue her dreams. Just over two years later, she graduated high-school, and, in early 2025, she went on to join The Author Conservatory, a college alternative program teaching business and writing.

Jessica lives with her parents and two younger sisters in an adorable cottage on the outskirts of a small town. When not writing or reorganizing her bookshelves, she’s trying out new gluten-free recipes or playing her favorite songs on her guitar.

On any given day, you can find her feverishly typing away at a new story idea, holed up in her room reading, or unsuccessfully evading her very loved but talkative sisters.

Some of her favorite authors include L. M. Montgomery, Lousia M. Alcott, Kellyn Roth, Joanne Bischof, and Anna Rose Johnson. Her washi tape collection is always growing, and she has more notebooks than she knows what to do with.
